The Istanbul prosecutor's office has repealed a previously issued municipal court decision to arrest four members of the National Intelligence Agency of Turkey, 1 news.az reports citing the Turkish media. The court decision was repealed in light of the amendment to the law according to which the court requires a sanction from the premier in order to investigate in cases involving intelligence services.
The arrest warrant was issued for four intelligence service officers after they failed to appear in court to testify in the investigation of a Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) group in the intelligence services. The scandal appeared in the center of the media after some information had been released according to which the National Intelligence Agency and the RKK had several agreements, which were not known to the security authorities of the country. In accordance with these agreements, the secret services did not prevent the attacks, knowing in advance about their organization.
According to the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet, the Turkish opposition leader and chairman of the Republican People's Party, Kemal Kilidjaroglu, said that Erdogan knew about the arrangement and has to make his apologies to the nation.
