No more conflicts between Russia and Georgia in the future - Putin

Russian premier Vladimir Putin has expressed hope that there will be
no more military conflicts between Moscow and Tbilisi; he also noted
that Russia is not going to use the helicopter carrier "Mistral"
against Georgia, Interfax reports.
"I pray to god to avoid conflicts between Georgia and Russia in the
future," Putin said. Answering journalists' questions, the Russian
premier also noted that modern military hardware allowed Russia not to
use equipment such as "Mistral" in case of conflict against Georgia.
Speaking about the Russian-Georgian military conflict of 2008, Putin
mentioned that Russian troops stopped 20 kilometers from Tbilisi, but
only because Russia did not plan to attack the city. The use of force
at the time was caused by the defensive need to protect Russian
peacekeepers and the citizens of South Ossetia.
