British Prime Minister David Cameron said at a joint press conference with US President Barack Obama at the White House that chances for finding a diplomatic means to resolve the Iranian nuclear program are falling away, ITAR-TASS reports.
Obama said that Tehran has failed to prove the civil nature of the nuclear program. So many sanctions were used to convince Iran. The US president expressed hope that the dialogue with five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany would give the best results.
At the same time, Obama said that pressure on Iran continues and will increase this summer. The Iranian economy suffers from a great impact. The president concluded that he will not allow Iran to build nuclear weapons.
Cameron shares Obama’s view. He says that Iran must follow international obligations, otherwise political and economic pressure would increase.
The US leader also commented on intervention in Syria. He noted that it has not been planned and may provoke a civil war with even more casualties.
Cameron warned Syrian leaders that the international law has a good memory for violations of human rights. Obama said that they discussed monitoring of humanitarian aid for Syria.
