The Russian delegation expects that, at the next summer session of PACE in Strasbourg, the Russia-Georgia case will be closed, the head of the Duma's international committee Konstantin Kosachev said, reports RIA Novosti.
He said that European parliamentarians have split into two camps, one of which supports discussion of the Russian-Georgian conflict and has drafted resolutions at every PACE session and another calling for the file to be closed. Kosachev also noted that each year more and more parliamentarians are inclined to the latter variant of this conflict resolution.
This summer the PACE session will also see reports on the human rights situation in the Caucasus and discussion of more traditional issues for Europe - democracy, Islam and islamophobia, the situation in Kosovo and illegal immigration.
