Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has become the head of the governmental commission for socio-economic development of the North Caucasian Federal District, RIA Novosti reports.
The commission includes Vice Premier and Plenipotentiary Presidential Envoy to the NCFD Alexander Khloponin, member of the parliamentary committee for international affairs Alexander Babakov, deputy head of the committee for international affairs of the Federation Council Ahmed Bilalov, Minister for Regional Development Oleg Govorun, Sberbank President German Gref, VEB President Vladimir Dmitriyev, Ingush Leader Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, Governor of the Stavropol Territory Valery Zerenkov, Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov, Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade Georgy Magomedov, Kabardino-Balkarian Leader Arsen Kanokov, Minister for Education and Science Dmitry Livanov, Dagestani Leader Magomedali Magomedov, North Ossetian Leader Taymuraz Mamsurov, Minister for Culture Vladimir Medinsky, Minister for Sports Vitaly Mutko, Minister for Energy Alexander Novak, Deputy Minister for Economic Development Oleg Saveliyev, Finances Minister Anton Siluanov, Healthcare Minister Veronica Skvortsova, Transport Minister Maksim Sokolov, Karachay-Cherkessian Leader Rashid Temrezov, Minister for Labour and Social Protection Maksim Topilin, deputy head of the Federation Council Alexander Torshin and Agriculture Minister Nikolai Fedorov.
The commission was formed in December 2010 to coordinate federal and regional structures, encouragement of investment projects, consideration of proposals and preparation of documents.
Previous sessions in Moscow in January stressed the development of Stavropol Territory, Dagestan and Ingushetia and development of the state program for development of the NCFD.
