Turkey and the Syrian National Council offer Syrian President Bashar al-Assad help in finding a new home, RIA Novosti reports.
A delegation of the council met Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu in Ankara on Monday and discussed the issue. Neither Turkey, nor Syrian opposition want Assad to have the same fate as Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi who was killed by rebels in October 2011.
Spokesman of the Syrian National Council George Sabra said on Tuesday that opposition was ready to discuss power transition in Syria.
The conflict in Syria has been ongoing since March 2011. The UN says that 16,000 people have died in the conflict. Western states and LAS members want al-Assad to resign. Russia and China believe that foreign interference in Syria would escalate the conflict. Syrian authorities say that they face well-armed militants supported by foreign states.
