The new law on purchases of Turkish property by foreigners has come into force. Some states will be in full effect by the law, some partially.
Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Arab states of the Gulf will be allowed to purchase Turkish property without preconditions, Trend reports on Friday.
Russians and Ukrainians will not be able to purchase property on the Black Sea. Greece will not be able to purchase property in any region of Turkey, except coastal and border areas.
Armenia, Syria, North Korea, Cuba, Nigeria and Yemen were banned from purchasing property in Turkey.
The Turkish parliament passed the bill on property in early May. Foreigners may purchase up to 60 hectares of land. Foreigners may also purchase land at military facilities on permission of the General Staff.
Foreigners may purchase only 10% of total land in provinces. The earlier version of the law only permitted property purchases to citizens of foreign states where Turkey could purchase land.
