Militants in the town of Khorog in Tajikistan have handed over 200 weapons since Sunday, Asia Plus reports.
Those who give up will be free from punishment. Tajik police spokesman Mahmadullo Asadulloyev said that they received dozens of AKs, machine guns, grenades, grenade launchers, ammunition, uniforms and medical kits.
Clerics, public and youth organizations and intellectuals were assisting in persuading militants to give up.
The neutralization of the militants was provoked by the murder of Tajik Intelligence Chief General Abdullo Nazarov on July 24. Two civilians died in the attack.
