Georgia has joined the EU sanctions against Syria, Trend reports on Wednesday.
The foreign ministers of 27 EU member countries on July 23 decided to impose an embargo on arms supplies to Syria.
Under the agreement, the EU will examine ships and aircraft suspected of supplying weapons to Syria.
According to paragraph 17 of the agreement, a wide range of individuals and legal entities of Syria have been denied entry to the EU and their assets in Europe will be frozen. The "black list" includes 52 Syrian companies and 155 citizens.
In addition to Georgia, the sanctions have been supported by Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Iceland, Serbia, Albania, Liechtenstein, Norway and Moldova.
