Russian Vice Premier Dmitry Rogozin has returned from a two-day visit to Baku. Though no details of his visit have been given, experts and press say that the lease of the Qabala Radar was one of the main topics of the negotiations.
Rogozin met Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The two officials used to chair delegations at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. They had a meeting at the Zagulba Coast in Baku on August 15, where the Russian vice premier observed resort attractions.
The Russian official made a positive comment on his visit, praising the dynamic development of Baku's architecture. He also denied media rumours about a failure of negotiations and the formation of a commission to shut the radar down. Rogozin insists that the talks were a success, he said on Twitter today (Dmitry Rogozin @Rogozin).
