Ukraine is ready to help Armenia and Azerbaijan find a mutually-acceptable
solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Ukrainian
ambassador to Armenia, Ivan Kukhta, announced, ARKA reports.
"Ukraine enjoys good friendly and partnership relations both with
Armenia and Azerbaijan, and it is in our interest that the conflict is
resolved peacefully. Ukraine is ready to contribute to all efforts
aimed at finding a mutually-acceptable solution to the dispute within
the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group," he said.
The ambassador said that in 2013 Ukraine will take up the rotating
chairmanship of the OSCE. He also said Ukraine will make every effort
to give fresh impetus to resolving protracted conflicts in the OSCE
territory, as well as promoting the organization's effectiveness in
early warning systems and responding to new challenges and threats to
security.
‘In general, regarding the military-political sphere, Ukraine will support
efforts to resume the effective regime of conventional arms control in
Europe, non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and
confidence-building measures," the ambassador said.
He stressed that in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict Ukraine supports the
position of the OSCE Minsk Group.
