Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev calls for restoration of the country’s presence lost after the collapse of the USSR. He believes that the institutes of Goethe, Cervantes, Dante and Confucius are ahead of Russia in accomplishing the goal, ITAR-TASS reports.
The PM said at a meeting of Rossotrudnichestvo, attended by over 70 states, that 35 new officer of the organization will open before 2015. The agency can improve its efficiency by making its efficiency evaluation more clear and by expanding humanitarian mission, including activity in the Asian-Pacific Region.
Medvedev noted that 30 million compatriots living abroad could become a great contribution. Russia needs more high-skilled specialists, scientists, talented young people.
The prime minister emphasized that Russia’s image abroad was another essential aspect of Rossotrudnichestvo. Such projects as Nord Stream were dragged because they seemed suspicious for the public and states. Medvedev added that experts considered Russia a state with high investment potential.
Concluding the talks, Medvedev proposed improvement of work. Rossotrudnichestvo proposed a set of initiatives involving the Foreign Ministry, Ministry for Economic Development. The prime minister said that the document will be considered in October.
