Executive Secretary of the CIS Sergey Lebedev said at the CIS Council of Interior Ministers in Baku today that the organization had formed a clear and balanced program of joint efforts to enforce national, regional and international security. Enforcement of stability and security remains a priority and relies on all members of the CIS, Lebedev explains, Trend reports.
Yalta will host the CIS Council of Prime Ministers on September 28 to discuss security issues. Ashkhabad will host the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers and the Council of Heads of States on November 1-2 to sign security documents.
Adalyat Muradov, head of the section for economic policy, analyses and forecasting of the Azerbaijani Ministry for Economic Development, said that some CIS states had improved their competitive positions. Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Russia and Tajikistan have shown the best achievements since 2005. Azerbaijan improved by 23 positions, Ukraine by 11, Kazakhstan by 10, Russia by 8, Tajikistan by 4. Azerbaijan is having the best rate.
The World Economic Forum put Azerbaijan made a rating of competitiveness for 144 states for 2012-2013, putting Azerbaijan on the 46th position. Azerbaijan has improved by 9 positions since the rating last year.
The product market improved by 19 positions, innovative potential by 14, technological level by 13, institute quality by 5. Macroeconomic stability is on the 18th position in the rating.
The World Economic Forum composes its rating basing on the quality of institutes, infrastructure, macroeconomic stability, healthcare and education, professional training, efficiency of the product market, efficiency of the labour market, development of the financial market, technological level, domestic market, competitiveness of companies, innovative potential.
