Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze has expressed concerns over the Kavkaz-2012 military drills organized in Russia, News Georgia reports.
The minister said at a conference in Tbilisi on Monday that the drills threaten regional stability and security and reminded about the war of 2008.
Vashadze expressed the concerns at a press conference with foreign ministers of Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania and the Czech Republic. The ministers arrived on Monday to meet Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and other high-ranking officials.
The Kavkaz-2012 military drills started in the Southern Military District of Russia on September 17 and will continue until September 23. Army General Nikolai Makarov, Commander of the Russian General Staff, will command the training process.
