Foreign ministers of Austria, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and France plan to elect president, establish EU Foreign Ministry, set single visa and form common armed forces, ITAR-TASS reports.
Foreign Ministers of Germany and Poland Guido Westerwelle and Radoslaw Sikorski met in Warsaw and noted the need to make Europe a global leader.
The reforms will nullify the veto right some EU states have.
The office of the EU high representative for foreign affairs and security policy is planned to become a full-fledged Foreign Ministry. EU states plan to form a single Interior Ministry.
British press says that the reforms will inspire the referendum to join the EU, as proposed by the Conservative Party.
