The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will sent 22 officials under supervision of Luca Volonte to Georgia on September 29 to monitor the parliamentary polls of October 1, Georgia Online reports.
The delegation will monitor the process together with the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, European Parliament, NATO Parliamentary Assembly and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
The PACE delegation will meet officials of political parties, CEC chairman, head of the Commission for Checking Voters’ Lists, heads of the State Audit Service, public figures and media officials.
The visit will end on October 2.
PACE visited Tbilisi on September 11-12 to study the pre-electoral atmosphere.
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili ordered the Foreign Ministry to invite observers for the parliamentary polls in April.
According to the Georgian CEC on September 25, the parliamentary polls will be monitored by 61 international organizations.
