Tensions in Trans-Caucasus remain

 

Russian Plenipotentiary Presidential Envoy to South Ossetia for Post-Conflict Settlement Murat Jioyev said at the 21st round of international security discussions of Trans-Caucasus in Geneva that the situation in region remained tense, Res reports.

Officials discussed security and humanitarian affairs. Special attention was paid to the situation after the 20th round of talks. South Ossetia said that violations on the border of Georgia were still regular. The South Ossetian delegation said that no progress had been achieved in searches for missing people.

The sides discussed a document on non-use of force between Georgia, South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

The Georgian delegation included Georgy Volsky and Pata Zakareishvili, members of the Georgian Dream coalition that won the parliamentary polls.

The next round of talks was set for December 2012.
