South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov said that the country was ready for negotiations with Georgia if it recognizes South Ossetia’s independence and compensates damage caused by aggression.
Tibilov wants to sign a treaty on non-use of force with South Ossetia. He reminded that the war in 2008 had been an act of aggression. It was proven at the international independent commission of Talyavini.
South Ossetia and Georgia have not recognized each other’s sovereignty, nor signed treaties on delimitation or demarcation of borders.
Borders are protected by South Ossetian and Russian guards.
