About 100 people belonging to the poor broke into the building of Tbilisi City Hall and occupied the second floor, demanding to be provided with living space in homes for the poor built by Switzerland.
According to the head of the city's social services, Mamuka Katsarava, these homes can accommodate a total of 24 apartments and they have already been distributed by responsible organizations - and the mayor cannot redistribute housing. The new houses in Tbilisi were completed and inaugurated by the mayor and a representative of the Embassy of Switzerland.
Today at noon the mayor was attacked by a crowd demanding redistribution. A few hours after the meeting and overlapping routes (which led to conflicts with drivers), City Hall was taken by storm.
The participants in the action are not going to give up until they get housing, because they have nowhere to live.
