Georgian espionage services will no longer be subordinate to president

 

The parliamentary majority of Georgia plans to put espionage and counter-espionage services under control of the government and the National Security Council, the latter still being controlled by President Mikheil Saakashvili.

The Guards Service of the president will also be under control of a different structure. Saakashvili said that he would find a different security organization, should he lose control over the Guards Service.
