Turkish foreign minister says 'nothing new' in Assad statement

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has commented on the speech of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, emphasizing that it had old ideas expressed two years ago.

Davutoglu believes that Syria needs humanitarian aid and wants to fight terrorism.

Al-Assad proposed a new plan to resolve the crisis. It consists of three points: a stop to financing terrorism by foreign states, summoning of a governmental conference for dialogue and an amnesty, as stated by al-Assa at the Opera Theater in Damascus.

The Syrian leader says that foreign countries support Al Qaeda.
