Armenia continues settling in Nagorno-Karabakh

 

114 families of 415 people from Armenia and other countries in Nagorno-Karabakh in 2012, compared with 169 families of 580 people in 2011.

Most of them came from Syria. 30 families from Syria settled in the Lachinsky District.

A Lebanese foundation granted families with three or more children cattle. 152 cows were granted to such families in 2012.

In 2011, the OSCE Minsk Group published a report of a mission in Nagorno-Karabakh in 2010. It was the first international mission in the area since 2005 and the first visit of UN officials in 18 years. They saw only 14000 people living in Lachin and Kelbajar.

Nagorno-Karabakh had no sufficient population growth since 2005. The locals live in harsh conditions due to poor infrastructure. Some lack IDs.

Azerbaijani considers Armenia’s settling in the territories illegal and demands the international society to stop the process.
