Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov has met the Speaker of the Chechen Parliament, Dukuvakha Abdurakhmanov, and was presented with a report on the work of the commission for a land survey of Chechnya and Ingushetia, the Chechen government reports.
The commission will complete its work this year, but it operates unilaterally. Abdurakhmanov said that he had visited Ingushetia three times with no one to come for dialogue. He believes that Ingushetia was blocking the process on purpose.
Kadyrov wanted the commission to continue its work. He added that the borders of the Sunzhensky District had been established.
The commission for a land survey was formed in 2012 to determine administrative control over the Sunzhensky District and part of the Malgobeksky District. Kadyrov said that he had all the necessary documents to prove that the lands belonged to Chechnya.
Ingush Leader Yunus-Bek Yevkurov said on LJ that attempts to reconsider the borders could provoke conflicts. Russian Plenipotentiary Presidential envoy to the North Caucasian Federal District Alexander Khloponin demanded they stop arguing and form a working group instead.
The commission in Ingushetia has been operating since 2009, the Chechen one since last summer.
