Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev does not support the idea of increasing the pension age. The head of the cabinet said so today while addressing members of the State Duma.
"We have been discussing this initiative for a long time and decided not to increase the pension age in the country," the prime minister said.
At the moment Russian women can retire at the age of 55 and Russian men at the age of 60. Many Russian economists believe that the pension age should be increased in order to enhance economic development and decrease the country's spending.
