The Turkish parliament has adopted a controversial alcohol bill proposed by the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), Hürriyet Daily News reports
The bill tightens restrictions on the sale and advertising of alcoholic drinks, despite concerns that the bill would violate personal freedoms and lifestyle choices.
According to the bill, shops will no longer be allowed to sell alcohol between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. The opposition strongly criticized the bill and said that such a ban should not include touristic regions.
