An international meeting on Syria could be held in July this year, the head of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Guido Westerwelle, said today.
"It is better if the conference will be held in July than never. We are very concerned about the situation in Syria," Interfax quotes him.
Westerwelle also urged all countries, especially Russia, to make an effort for a political settlement of the conflict, which has already killed more than 94 thousand people.
As previously reported by Vestnik Kavkaza, a conference on Syria was initiated by Russia and the United States during U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry's visit to Moscow in May 2013.
