Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili admitted that his party had organized caches of weapons, ammo, narcotics and videos of tortures. The caches included lists of people unfavorable until the elections of 2012, Interfax reports.
After a week of silence, the president said that the stockpiles were formed to be more prepared for aggression than Georgia had been in 2008. He admitted that the tortures were real, but were not massive.
The parliamentary majority will impeach the president next week, spokesman of the parliamentary majority Giya Georgiliani said. He added that Saakashvili should lose presidential authority before the elections in October to prevent further crimes.
