The next round of Iran's talks with the 5+1 group is going to be held in Geneva next week. Iran is believed to be ready to compromise in order to pursue Western powers to lift the sanctions imposed on the Islamic Republic. Among such moves Iranian parliamentary speaker Ali Larijani mentioned the possibility of handing over its 20-percent-enriched uranium to the IAEA.
Vestnik Kavkaza discussed the situation with member of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, political analyst Vladimir Sazhin.
"I believe the first move Iran can make is to stop enriching uranium up to 20 percent,"he said.
According to the expert, another move may be the suspension of the Fordo plant's operation and permission to IAEA observers to visit the Parchin military base.
"I think these are the measures Iran is ready to take. I believe the main aim now is for the Iranian nuclear project to meet the IAEA and the UN Security Council's standards, because it's quite clear that Iran will not stop its programme completely," he says.
