Vyacheslav Kovalenko, the director for regional programs of the Institute for Caspian Cooperation, believes that guarantees to abstain from using force against the two republics would be timely and would improve the atmosphere.
He added that the sides could even start trade, economic and cultural cooperation. Georgia would benefit from demonstrating peaceful intentions to solve problems. The expert believes that Georgia would form a very positive foundation for bilateral relations.
