Mohammad al-Fattah Nasri, spokesman of the Arab League (LAS), said that withdrawal of members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) would enforce security in the region, Trend reports.
Turkish Vice Prime Minister Besir Atalay said that the country will continue efforts have all PKK militants leave its territory.
Turkey had about 2,000 PKK militants. About 20% of them have left the country.
The Turkish conflict with the Kurdistan Workers' Party has been ongoing for over 25 years. The PKK demands independence. The conflict has resulted in deaths of over 40,000 people. The UN and the European Union recognize the PKK as a terrorist organization.
