One of the main political events of the last weekend was the Turkish-Egyptian quarrel. The Egyptian authorities decided to expel the Turkish ambassador to Cairo, following Turkey's statements condemning the military coup.
Vestnik Kavkaza discussed the situation with the head of the International Middle East Research Centre, Kaan Dilek.
According to Dilek, the crisis in Turkish-Egyptian relations won't last for long. The region is so unstable and complicated that no one is interested in a new conflict, which would aggravate the situation, especially if it's a conflict among two of the three most powerful countries of the region, which are Turkey, Iran and Egypt.
