Israel to establish free trade area with Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan

Israeli Foreign Ministry Avigdor Lieberman announced today that his country was going to establish a free trade area with countries of the Customs Union - Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

According to the Israeli official, the corresponding agreement is going to be drafted in 2014.

Successful economic ties between Israel and Kazakhstan are mutually beneficial, Kazakh expert Eduard Poletayev says. According to him, Israel is interested in successful relations with other countries since its neighbours aren't exactly friendly. Kazakhstan is also interested in cooperation with the Jewish state, he believes.

His Belarusian colleague Sergey Kizima says Belarus and Israel also share economic interests. The Israeli economy is innovative and modern, while the Belarusian agricultural sector is very well-developed, so the two states can use each others potential, he explains.
