On Wednesday night Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan reformed the government after three ministers resigned due to a corruption scandal. As a result of the changes, not only the heads of the Ministry of the Economy, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of the Environment, whose children were detained during the anti-corruption operation, but also the heads of the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Sport, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Social Development, the Ministry of Science and the Ministry for EU Affairs.Turkish political scientist and journalist Nihad Dagdelen told Vestnik Kavkaza that changes in the Cabinet were supposed to take place after the municipal elections, which will be held in the next year. However a far greater surprise was not the timing of the reforms but the selection of candidates. "The new names in the cabinet came as a surprise to everyone. If we look at the composition of the new Cabinet, we will see that all the ministers have been chosen by Erdogan from his closest circle," Dagdelen said.He noted that, perceiving government accusations of embezzlement as a conspiracy, Erdogan has gathered the closest people around him, declaring war on conspirators. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Efgan Ali is the leader of this group, the journalist believes.Dagdelen also said he does not believe in a conspiracy against Erdogan. "Instead of looking for conspirators, they should have better demonstrated the absurdity of these charges. If there was indeed an international conspiracy, where were these conspirators all the 11 years that Erdogan has been in power?" Nihad Dagdelen asked. On Wednesday night Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan reformed the government after three ministers resigned due to a corruption scandal.
