The minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Equality of citizens, Paata Zakareishvili, in an interview to the BBC's Russian service talked about the approach of the new authorities to the problem of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
He stressed that the new concept is fundamentally different from that which existed during the presidency of Mikhail Saakashvili.
"Georgia is now offering Abkhazia and South Ossetia, without forgetting anything, to make a fresh start, because power, in fact, has changed in Georgia. It has a different overview of the past and of the future. We are ready to discuss many pressing issues regarding the conflict regions - social and economic. We are ready to put aside any issues that are unacceptable to them or to us, political issues, such as the status issue We can solve only those issues on which we can agree," Zakareishvili said.
The Minister stressed that Tbilisi is committed to ensuring that the return of Abkhazia and South Ossetia to Georgia would be voluntary and conscious decisions by Sukhumi and Tskhinvali.
