Georgian political analysts say parliamentary speaker David Usupashvili exaggerates the importance of the adoption of the plan of the country's joining the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The speaker says the adoption of the plan is crucial for political stability within the country. Otherwise, the anti-Western forces will threaten the country's Nato bid, Usupashvili believes.
"I believe it's an exaggeration when the speaker talks about a "threat" to the country's European and North Atlantic integration," Director of Strategic and International Research Fund Alexander Rondelli says. "However a certain negative reaction will definitely take place," he added.
The same opinion has been expressed by political analyst Georgy Nodiya. According to the expert, the process of North Atlantic integration has been slowed down several times, but it has never caused the authorities to question the political course.
