Ukrainian opposition leader Klitschko says government may resign

Leader of the UDAR Party of Ukraine Vitaly Klitschko announced at the Maiden Nezalezhnosti Square that President Victor Yanukovych had agreed to consider the dismissal of the government. A building caught fire from burning tires on the Grushevsky Street. An office of the Kiev TV Channel was attacked by the protesters, and its furniture was used to build barricades. Protesters do not allow the Berkut police units to take the barricades down.

Political analyst Aleksey Poltarakov said that either the factor of time pressure of desire to keep the protests going could stimulate violence on Sunday. Now that the negotiations have started, opposition will not encourage street violence. The expert believes that both sides of the conflict want to drag it for electoral benefits.

Political analyst and journalist Igor Gridasov noted that opposition wanted power and had inner struggles for it. He said that opposition leaders Klitschko, Yatsenko and Tyagnibok should stop active protests to prevent radical leaders from gaining power.

Political analyst Aleksey Voronenko said that the three opposition leaders had nothing to do other than stop violence and start finding provokers. They would lose political positions if things get out of hand. The protests were gathered in November with little knowledge of what to do. The expert noted that opposition leaders were not in control of the situation.
