Turkish private business loses $60 billion in anti-corruption operation

 

Turkish Vice prime Minister Ali Babacan said that private business in Turkey had lost $60.252 billion in the anti-corruption operation in December 2013, though no decline of investment flow had happened, Trend reports.BDDK, Turkish bank-monitoring agency, said that the population lost trust in banks. The country has 49 banks. Halk Bank lost $1.625 billion.An operation took place in Istanbul and Ankara on December 17. Dozens of people, including businessmen and sons of some ministers, were detained. Mustafa Damir, Head of the Fatih Municipality of Istanbul, Suleiman Aslan, Director General of Halk Bank, Ali Agaoglu, a businessman, were detained.
