The Georgian inter-department council for strategic border control held a session yesterday, organized by Prime Minister Irakly Garibashvili’s council for state security and crisis control, Trend reports.
The inter-department council was formed by the government on January 14 and will develop a strategy for border control by March 1. It is headed by an assistant of the prime minister, secretary of the council for state security and crisis control.
The session was dedicated to a discussions of a working program and determination of the main priorities. Another session will be organized in late February to round up the talks.
Officials of the UNDP, EU office in Georgia, International Organization for Migration and the US Embassy took part in the session.
