Gary Quinlen, Australian Permanent Representative to the UN, said that the UNSC will vote for the resolution for Syria at 11.00AM on February 22, ITAR-TASS reports.
The document was composed by Australia, Jordan and Luxembourg.
Gerard Araud, French Permanent Representative to the UN, clarified that votes for the document were postponed on request of one of the UNSC members. The final resolution has no sanctions in it and urges both sides of the Syrian conflict to fight terrorism.
It also urges the Syrian government to give access to humanitarian aid.
Russian Foreign Minister Alexander Lukashevich said that Moscow “is working with its partners to make the text balance and really help in the situation of dire needs for humanitarian aid in Syria.”
