The President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, whose mandate ends in 2013, declared that he won't run for president again, RIA Novosti reports.
He said that he could be run again as president for a third term by referendum and that he would most likely win it, but he stressed the vital importance of observance of the new constitution, which will come into force on September 7th.
This constitution stipulates a reduction in presidential authority through redistribution of some of the post's privileges between parliament and government.
