Turkish and Kyrgyz Prime Ministers Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Djoomart Otorbayev met today and discussed development of relations between the two states, Trend reports.
Otorbayev expressed his condolences to Erdogan over the death of miners in Soma.
The sides discussed economic cooperation in the context of Kyrgyzstan joining the Customs Union. Turkish businessmen will increase investments in Kyrgyzstan as soon as it joins the organization. The prime ministers proposed activation of cooperation in joint hydro energy, transportation, communication and tourism projects.
Turkey wants to help Kyrgyz law enforcers, increase quotas for Kyrgyz students studying in prestigious Turkish higher education centers and exchanges of business delegations.
Turkey and Kyrgyzstan agreed to intensify inter-departmental cooperation and mutual visits. Erdogan and Otorbayev discussed preparations for the third session of the Supreme Council for Strategic Cooperation planned for June 3. The sides plan to boost military cooperation.
