The communique of the the EU foreign service reports that Montenegro, Iceland, Albania, Liechtenstein and Norway have joined the fulfillment of the new EU sanctions list against Russian and Ukrainian politicians and two Crimean enterprises, which the EU considers guilty of destabilizing the situation in Ukraine and undermining its territorial integrity.
As noted in the document, Montenegro and Iceland are considered as candidates for EU membership, Albania as a potential candidate and Norway and Liechtenstein as members of the European Economic Area and the European Free Trade Association.
"They will ensure that their national policies are consistent with the Council's decisions. The EU has taken note of these requirements and welcomes them," RIA Novosti quotes a statement on behalf of the head of EU diplomacy, Catherine Ashton.
