The United Ossetia party received 31.2 percent of the vote in Sunday's parliamentary elections in the semi-recognized republic of South Ossetia. The People's Unity party received 14 percent and came second, while the New Ossetia party received 12.1 percent and came third.
The Nakhys party received 12 percent of the vote and came fourth. Other parties also received more than the 7 percent necessary to enter the parliament, according to exit polls.
Some 33 thousand people took part in the vote.
The elections were condemned by the European Union, which voiced support for Georgia's territorial integrity.
