Is Georgia's new government a new "dream"? A new government began its work today in Georgia. There are seven new ministers in the government including the Minister of Agriculture, the Minister of Regional Development, the Minister of Culture, the Minister of Ecology, heads of the departments of Corrections and Refugees, as well as the State Minister for Diaspora Affairs. Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has proclaimed a new program "For a united and democratic Georgia" which is aimed at fulfilling the country's obligations according to the association agreement with the European Union and even drafting a new constitution. Political scientist Petre Mamradze and economist Irakli Lekvinadze talked to VK about the new program of the government. The director of the "Georgian Business Insight" (BPI), economic expert Irakli Lekvinadze said that the program creates all the possibilities for the republic to fully develop. He said that in order for the program to be successful it is important for the ministries to take necessary decisions and to support the local businesses."An association, a free trade regime with the EU along with the maintenance of trade relations with Russia is an ideal situation," the expert said. The head of the Institute for Strategy Management, Petre Mamradze, in his turn, expressed talked about the economical downside on the program, but praised the humanitarian directions of the program such as human rights, the rule of law and the freedom of the media.
