Russian lawmaker wants to deprive Russians of products from Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine

Roman Khudyakov, a member of the LDPR faction in the Russian parliament, has composed a request to Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to ban products from Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia. He clarified that cheap and low-quality products from Europe should not enter the Russian market, News Azerbaijan reports.

Yevgeny Fedorov, a member of the United Russia Party, shares his opinion. Yet Victor Zvagelsky, deputy head of the State Duma committee for economic policy, innovative development and business, says that such a step would be a blow to competition.

Russia has banned beef, pork, fruit, poultry and dairy products from the EU, the U.S., Australia, Canada and Norway on August 7 for one year. The embargo has not affected children’s food.
