Ukrainian boundary wall to be tested for ecological standards

Mikhail Degtyarev, deputy head of the Russian Duma committee for science and high-tech, a member of the LDPR, has composed letters to the Ministry for Environment and the WWF to study the ecological impact of the construction of a wall that Ukraine has initiated along the Russian border, Izvestia reports.Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said that such a wall would be built to secure the border. Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk declared its construction within the framework of the "Wall" project that will take 6 months to realize. The border is 2,300km long.The Russian lawmaker noted that the project will affect five Russian regions, including the territory of Bryansk Forest, part of Eastern Polesie.
