Turkish Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag said that Turkey needed a new Constitution, despite amendments introduced to over 100 points of the document earlier, TRT Haber reports.
Ahmed Davutoglu, the prime minister and ex-minister for foreign affairs, stated after the presidential polls of August 14 that the country needed a new democratic Constitution. Its development will be a new goal of the government.
Composition of a new Constitution in Turkey has been ongoing for over a year. Protests of the opposition have prevented the government from organizing a referendum to pass the new document.
