Turkey will not interfere in events Kobani, experts believe

The south-eastern provinces of Turkey with a predominantly Kurdish population have been protesting against the refusal of Ankara to send Turkish troops to Syria. The protesters are urging the Turkish authorities to save the city of Kobani, which has been under the attack from the terrorist group Islamic State. As a result of the protests 19 people have died, 145 have been injured, 369 arrested.

The Turkish government has announced that they will not interfere in the conflict. In an interview to Vestnik Kavkaza, Turkish experts explain the situation.

Political analyst Togrul Ismail said that Turkey will not intervene in the affairs of Syria without the permission of the international community and other international procedures.

He noted that pro-Kurdish forces or even a special group from Syria might be behind the protests in Turkey.

The political scientist believes that no rallies or collisions can force Ankara to intervene in the conflict in Syria. The YPG military group, protecting Kobani, considers Abdullah Ocalan to be its ideological leader. He is serving a sentence in a Turkish prison. The YPG, like the PKK, are officially recognized by Ankara as terrorist organizations.

For Turkey, it is a battle between two terrorist groups - the YPG and the KPP, Turkish political expert Khaldun Yalcin Kaya said.
