In Iran two-day manoeuvres of the "Basidzh" militia groups have begun. They are being held under the codename "Al beit ul-Mukaddas-3" ("On the way to Jerusalem-3"). The "Basidzh" paramilitary forces were created after the Islamic Revolution of 1979 by order of the then-spiritual leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini, to train millions of men to be soldiers for repelling possible aggression. Rebels from "Basidzh" excelled during the Iran-Iraq War between 1980 and 1988.
