Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the Caliph of the self-proclaimed Islamic State, has reportedly been wounded during a US strike on territories controlled by the terrorist body, Iraqi media report on Saturday.
Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, known to his supporters as Amir al-Mu'minin, announced the formation of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) — alternatively translated from the Arabic as the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) — on 8 April 2013.
On 5 November 2014 he was listed among Forbes most powerful people and was ranked at number 54.
